Objectives : Provision of appropriate energy technologies and products, e.g. energy-efficient charcoal stoves, solar water heater, solar kiosks and capability-building activities such as food micro-business management, food hygiene and sanitation, systems installation, menu planning and food processing, solar water disinfection (SODIS) to ambulant food vendors

Benefits : new knowledge and information, savings on energy expenses, safe and hygienic, healthy and nutritious affordable foods, clean environment, advocacy for recognition of ambulant vendors or legalizing their existence, health certificates and business permits, freeing them from usurers and financiers

Expected and realized outputs:

100 ambulant food vendors capacitated for

  1. increased income savings from using energy-efficient charcoal stoves
  2. selling safe, hygienic, healthy, nutritious affordable foods
  3. sterilized eating and cooking equipment using solar water heater or boiling water
  4. organized, clean and presentable solar kiosks for eateries
  5. improved business management with record-keeping
  6. acquisition of city health certificates
  7. access to credit facilities
  8. business counseling (peer coaching)
